Included are correspondence, land records, photographs, genealogy notes, wills, obituaries, programs, autograph book (1884), report cards from Wesleyan Female College and UNC Chapel Hill, poetry, and accounts. The material pertains to David Alexander Barnes (born 1819, died 1892) and his wife Bettie Vaughan, and their children Bessie Vaughan, David Collin Sr. (and wife Irene A. Smith), Sarah Louisa, and Annie Rosa Caroline, and to three grandchildren David Collin Barnes, Jr., Helen Augusta Barnes (Chambliss), and Alexander Hall Barnes. Gift of Murfreesboro Historical Association via President James E. Moore.
